1.structure

The surface of the MDF is smooth, and the principle of production is to break the wood into powder and shape it after pressing. However, due to too many holes on its surface, its moisture resistance is not as good as particleboard. 

2. Environmental protection level

    At present, the environmental protection level of particleboard on the market is higher than that of MDF, E0 level is safer for human body, most MDF is E2 level, and E1 level is less, and it is mostly used for door panels.

3. Different performance

    Generally speaking, high-quality particleboard has better water resistance and expansion rate, so it is more commonly used. While, the expansion rate of MDF is relatively poor, and the nail holding force is not strong, so it is generally not used as a large wardrobe, and the characteristics of easy moisture make MDF unable to make cabinets.

4. Different maintenance methods

    Due to different structures and functions, the maintenance methods of MDF and particleboard are also different. When placing the furniture made of particleboard, the ground should be kept flat and balanced on the ground. Otherwise, the unstable placement will easily cause the tenon or fastener to fall off, and the pasted part will crack, affecting its service life. However, the MDF has poor waterproof performance,it is not suitable to be placed in the outdoor. 5. Different uses

    Particleboard is mainly used for heat insulation, sound absorption or ceiling and making some ordinary furniture. The MDF is mainly used for laminate flooring, door panels, partition walls, furniture and so on. The surfaces of these two sheets are treated with an oil-mixing process, and they look similar in appearance, but they are quite different in terms of use.
