Plywood is a traditional product in China's wood-based panels, and it is also the product with the largest output and market share. After decades of development, plywood has developed into one of the leading products in China's wood-based panel industry. According to the China Forestry and Grassland Statistical Yearbook, the output of China's plywood reached 185 million cubic meters as of 2019, an increase of 0.6% year-on-year. In 2020, China's plywood output is about 196 million cubic meters. It is estimated that by the end of 2021, the total production capacity of plywood products will exceed 270 million cubic meters. As an important plywood and veneer production and processing base and forest product distribution center in the country, the output of plywood in Guigang City, Guangxi accounts for 60% of the total area of Guangxi. Many plate manufacturing companies have issued price increase letters one after another. The main reason is that due to the increase in raw material prices, energy control is being carried out across the country, and power and production restrictions have continued for a long time.
    In terms of market demand, September and October are peak sales seasons, but business is relatively bleak. Recently, the market price of plywood has begun to fall. Among them, the price of density board has dropped by 3-10 yuan per piece, and the price of particleboard has dropped by 3- 8 yuan each, but it has not been transmitted to the downstream market so quickly. However, the prices of red construction concrete formwork and film faced plywood will continue to be high because of the high prices of raw materials. Recently, due to climatic reasons, most of the northern manufacturers have entered a state of suspension, the pressure on southern shipments has increased, and the freight transportation fees have also been rising. The industry has entered the off-season.

    In order to speed up the construction of the pilot city of "Science and Innovation China" in Guigang City, on October 27th, the Science and Technology Service Group of the Chinese Forestry Society visited Guigang City to conduct inspection and guidance on the development of the green home furnishing industry.
